This clip shows the capacity of young children to cooperatively engage in self and peer assessment. Notice how each of the 3 children identifies their own errors as they read out their instructions – reading aloud is key.  The author holds the pens and has the last word.

These children invite each other to change their instructions.

Ideally they discuss what could be changed, offer suggestions and the author decides.

This clip is worth watching twice to see how much is picked up and improved by the children working cooperatively.
